FEATURED PROJECT: UC RIVERSIDE STUDENT RECREATION CENTER

The University of California, Riverside is one of ten universities within the prestigious University of California system. Widely recognized as one of the most diverse research universities in the nation, UC Riverside currently hosts approximately 22,000 students and 900 instructional faculty. With its distinct student population, award winning instructors as well as a world renown research center, it’s no wonder that UC Riverside is in the midst of a incredible growth spurt.
Recently UC Riverside revamped their 155,000 square ft. student recreation center which features a newly expanded cardio and weight areas, intramural sports, 237,000 gallon swimming pool, 32′ rock climbing wall along with other cutting edge facilities. Two Selux fixtures were featured in the remodeling.
- MTR Column – die cast, low copper aluminum top cap, fitted and extruded straight or reverse tapered column. Lamping options include 60-120W LED, 1, 2, 3 or 4 – 32W T8 fluorescent or up to 2X 70W MH.
- MTR Bollards – Die cast, low copper aluminum/extruded housing with stainless steel fasteners. Lamping options include 50W/70W MH/HPS and 32W/42W Compact Fluorescent or various LED configurations inside a completely sealed optical chamber.
Both fixtures feature MTR refactor technology that reduces glare and enhances visual comfort. The Selux fixtures brought distinctive exterior lighting design to compliment and elevate the student recreation center. The American Institute of Architects (AIA) Inland California Chapter has recognized the University of California, Riverside recreation center with both a Merit Award and People’s Choice honors!
